Terms of Service
OhMyGoal (the “Service”) is operated by . By using the Service you agree to these terms.
- Age. You must be at least 18 years old. We use an on-device face age estimate and may block access if you appear to be under 18.
- Conduct. No nudity or sexual content, harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, scams, or sharing other people’s personal information. No recording or redistributing other users without consent.
- Enforcement. We may blur video, end chats, and restrict or ban access for violations, including automatically when our safety checks detect nudity. Reports are reviewed by moderators.
- Premium. Premium is an optional paid pass that unlocks extra features (gender and country filters, priority matching, Live translate, hiding your IP address, all video effects and colour themes, and a badge) for the period you buy. Premium requires signing in with Google. Premium does not exempt you from these terms.
- No guarantees. Matching depends on who is online and on your filters; we don’t guarantee a minimum number or type of matches. The Service is provided “as is”.
- Liability. You are responsible for what you share. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for content or conduct of other users.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
Privacy Policy
- Random chats are peer-to-peer. Messages, voice and video are not stored on our servers. Matching uses temporary records (the waiting queue and connection-setup data, which can contain network addresses). They are cleared as soon as possible and in any case within about a day.
- Your IP address. Chats are peer-to-peer, so by default the person you chat with can see your IP address and the approximate place it points to, as in any video call. Premium members can switch on “Hide my IP address” (Menu), which routes the connection through a relay server (Cloudflare) so the other person never sees it; the relay carries encrypted traffic and does not store it. On some networks a relay is used automatically so the call can connect at all. Your chat partner is also shown the details you choose to share (nickname, avatar, interests, declared gender, a flag for the country we detect from your IP address, and a Premium badge if you have one). If you and your chat partner both choose “Swap profiles” (offered after ten minutes), each of you sends the other a small card with the details you typed or chose, such as a short line about you and an optional handle; nothing is sent unless you both agree. Games, reactions and messages travel over the same private connection.
- Approximate distance (optional, off by default). If you turn on “Show how far I am”, your device reads its location when you start a chat, rounds it to a grid square of about 5 km, and sends only that square to your chat partner, and only if their app also says it turned the feature on (we cannot verify that for someone using a modified app, so keep it off if that worries you). We never receive, store or log your location. The other person sees a rough distance band (for example “10–25 km away”), never an exact one. Location is never used for matching.
- Live translate (Premium, off by default in every chat). When you switch it on, the messages it translates are the ones you receive (if you turned on “Translate messages I receive”) and the ones you type (if you turned on “Translate what I type”), and only those. If your browser has a built-in translator (for example Chrome’s), the translation happens on your device and nothing is sent anywhere. Otherwise the text of each such message is sent through our server to a translation service (Google Cloud, Vertex AI) and the translation comes back. We do not store that text, we do not write it to our logs, and we keep only a short-lived in-memory copy of short messages (at most 30 minutes, never written to disk) to avoid translating the same message twice; the only thing we record is how many translations your account asked for in the last day, to apply fair-use limits. Google processes the text only to translate it, under Google Cloud’s terms. When you translate what you type, your partner receives the translated message together with your original wording and its language; if they have Live translate on, the text of what they receive is translated the same way. Turning the switches off, or leaving the chat, stops all of it. Messages in random chats are still never stored by us.
- Your language. If you choose a language in your preferences, the person you chat with sees it (“Speaks हिन्दी”) and Live translate uses it. Without a Google sign-in it is kept only in your browser (like your nickname, avatar, interests and declared gender). If you are signed in with Google, these preferences (language, nickname, avatar, interests and declared gender) are also stored in your account profile so they follow you to your other devices; only you can read or change that profile, and it is removed when you ask us to delete your account data.
- Likes. When you give someone a “good vibe” after a chat, we store a like count against their anonymous account ID, and a record that you liked that chat (your account ID, theirs and the chat’s ID) so likes cannot be repeated or faked. Likes carry no names or messages. A person’s count can be looked up by anyone who knows their anonymous account ID, such as someone they chatted with.
- Safety checks (age estimation, nudity detection) run on your device. Camera frames are not uploaded.
- We store: an anonymous account ID; your chosen nickname, interests, country (detected from your IP address) and declared gender while you are matching; while you are in a group room, your nickname, avatar and a heartbeat time in the room’s member list (removed when you leave), plus short connection handshakes; abuse reports (when you report one message, that message’s text is included, up to 300 characters); and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account ID, name and email, your profile preferences (language, nickname, avatar, interests, declared gender), your friends list and friend messages, and your Premium status; payment records (order and payment IDs and amounts, never card details) for Premium passes and tips.
- Abuse prevention: to enforce age and safety rules we store your IP address and a device identifier (a one-way hash of your browser and device characteristics, not a photo or hardware ID) with your account ID. If the age or nudity check results in a restriction, these are used to apply it to this device, network and account, including private windows. Restrictions expire automatically (usually after 15 minutes or 24 hours) and you can request a review from the restriction screen. If you request a review, we keep your message and any contact details you give for 90 days. The IP address and device identifier stored with your account are deleted 90 days after your last visit, and records of expired restrictions are removed 30 days after they end.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details; we keep the order and payment IDs, amount and date.
- Service providers: Google Firebase (database, sign-in and functions), Google Cloud Vertex AI (translation, only when you use Live translate and your browser does not translate on the device), Razorpay (payments), Cloudflare (connection relay), Google Fonts and jsDelivr (fonts and the on-device safety models, which see your IP address when your browser downloads them), country.is (looks up your country from your IP address).
- Your choices: you can use the Service without signing in, remove friends at any time, and ask us to delete your account data by contacting us.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Premium passes are one-time payments with no auto-renewal, so there is nothing to cancel.
- If you were charged but Premium was not activated, or you were charged twice, contact us within 7 days with your payment ID and we will activate it or refund you in full.
- Refunds for unused passes can be requested within 48 hours of purchase if Premium features have not been used.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–7 working days.
- Passes removed because of a ban for breaking these terms are not refundable.
- Tips are voluntary one-time payments of an amount you choose (₹10 to ₹5,000). They unlock nothing and are non-refundable, except if you were charged by mistake or twice: contact us with the payment ID within 7 days and we will refund it.
